Cinto Caomaggiore is situated in the Tagliamento river valley, just a short distance from the town of Portogruaro and about half an hour from Caorle and Bibione. The town is famous for its narrow streets, picturesque stone houses and charming surroundings.it was founded during the Roman Empire and later became part of the Venetian Republic and then the Austrian Empire. During the First World War, the town was on the front line and was badly damaged.
Today Cinto Caomaggiore is a quiet town where you can admire traditional stone houses and ancient buildings.
But tourists also come here for the beautiful countryside - Cinto Caomaggiore offers opportunities for hiking and cycling. In fact, in Cinto Caomaggiore Regional there is the Park of Local Interest Reghena-Lemene and Lake Cinto (Parco RIL Reghena for short). It is a protected natural area covering an area of approximately 6 300 hectares. The area of the RIL Reghena Park is characterised by a great variety of environments, from maritime pine forests to glacial lakes. Many plant and animal species find their natural habitat here.the main attraction of the park is the Cinto Lakes, two small bodies of water surrounded by chestnut and beech forests. These lakes are ideal for relaxing and picnicking, or outdoor activities such as trekking and sport fishing. There are several hiking trails around the lakes.
If you like to go sightseeing, the local Church of St. John the Baptist (Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista) is worth mentioning. This church is one of the main religious buildings in Cinto Caomaggiore and is an important centre for the local community. The architecture of the church reflects the traditional Italian style and offers a place for services, weddings and other religious events. The interior of the church is decorated with frescoes and other artistic features that recall the rich history of the area.

- in May, the Festa delle Risorgive takes place in the Reghena-Lemene Park and on the Cinto Lakes. The most important part of the festival is the theatrical performance by local actors to highlight the history of their country and folk traditions. The last week of June sees the celebration of the feast of St Peter and St Paul in Cinto Caomaggiore, and the traditional beer festival is not to be missed in September.
